High-Performance Sewing Threads for Filter Bag Manufacturing

PTFE, PPS, Meta-Aramid & More — Designed for Industrial Filtration Systems

Our industrial-grade sewing threads are engineered to meet the toughest demands in dust collection and filtration systems. Offering exceptional strength, durability, and resistance to heat and chemicals, they are ideal for sewing filter bags used in cement plants, steel mills, power stations, and chemical industries.

Split-Film PTFE Thread – Built for High-Speed Automatic Sewing

At Ningbo Trans Envirotech, we supply split-film PTFE sewing thread purpose-built for automatic filter bag production lines. With breaking strength up to 68N and stable performance at speeds of 10–12 meters per minute, this thread is the best solution for high-temperature filter media like PPS, PTFE, fiberglass, and aramid.

✅ Key Advantages:

  • High strength and flexibility for automated sewing
  • Smooth surface, low friction – no skipped stitches or thread breaks
  • Leak-proof seams, even under reverse pulse cleaning
  • Excellent resistance to heat (up to 260°C) and chemicals
  • Long service life, fewer production interruptions

What Is Split-Film PTFE Thread?

Unlike traditional extruded PTFE thread, split-film PTFE is made by:

  1. Casting high-purity PTFE resin into thin films
  2. Mechanically splitting the film into microfibers
  3. Twisting them into soft, strong multi-filament thread

This results in superior softness, tensile strength, and machine compatibility — ideal for high-speed sewing of advanced filter bags.

Extruded vs. Split-Film PTFE Thread – Structural Comparison

🔹 Extruded PTFE Thread

Process:
PTFE resin → extrusion → stretching → drying → cutting or twisting

Structure:

  • Monofilament
Thick, stiff, and hard to form consistent stitches; rarely used in sewing
  • Multifilament
More flexible, but surface tends to be rough, with high friction

✅ Most extruded PTFE threads in the market are multifilament,
but they often suffer from thread breakage, skipped stitches, and poor compatibility with automatic sewing machines.

🔹 Split-Film PTFE Thread

Process:
PTFE film → mechanical splitting → microfibers → multi-filament twisting

✅ Always multifilament – cannot be monofilament.
Its structure resembles traditional textile fibers (like PPS or aramid), making it ideal for high-speed automated filter bag sewing.

📌 Summary:

Split-film PTFE thread offers higher softness, lower friction, and superior compatibility with automated sewing lines, outperforming conventional extruded threads in every key metric.

Split-Film vs Extruded PTFE Thread – Technical Comparison
